Parking fine nightmare

Parking "fine" heartache
I park in a Vinci "run" car park in Cardiff. I buy a dailey ticket each day. One particular day all the coin machines were out of service so I had to use to card machine. It offered me a weekly ticket for £17.50 which I thought was ideal as I wouldn't have to buy a new one each at! Brilliant!! On my return I had a parking ticket stating I'd parked without displaying valid payment? I was really annoyed so as soon as I got home I emailed to enquiry address asking for further details. 2 weeks have passed and I've had nothing. I'm concerned I'm going to receive letters for larger n larger amounts but the fine is at £100 and I didn't use my £17.50 ticket again so feel its not fair! After doing some digging online it turns out you need to fill in a remit online with Vinci but it didn't say that on the machine or ask me for any details when I purchased it?
What are my options??????

It's not a fine - it's a speculative request to pay."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Like on all threads where someone has got a fake PCN on the windscreen from a private parking company (PPC) you don't rush to appeal anyway!
You wait for the Notice to Keeper which arrives a month or so after the incident (as long as you or a relative are the registered keeper with the DVLA and it's not a company or hire car).
In the meantime whilst waiting, learn about the wording needed to challenge this and win (it's a 2 stage appeal and we know how to win the second stage).
Please read some other threads on here about any PPC, to learn more about challenging it without saying who was driving (so written in the third person). Then read about POPLA appeals as that's the second stage and completely different in the approach needed to win. Do your 'online digging' here on the first few current pages of this very forum and you will learn exactly what's needed to see this off and get it cancelled at their expense.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Private companies can not issue fines or penalties, you can in some circumstances be sued for any loss caused by your trespass.
as you paid to park there is no loss.
wait for them to get in touch, they may contact the DVLA and obtain the details for the vehicles registered keeper.
If that is you - wait for them to get in touch. From the Plain Language Commission:

Take photos of all the signs and pay machines. If they havent included the right infomation then they have no case any way simple as that. Also check the name of the carpark on your fake PCN and match it against the signs. I appealed after staying at Adam Street in Cardiff as the Ticket said Adams Street yet all the signs said Adam Street. After several E mails from me they scrapped the fine within 48 Hours knowing they had no grounds whatsoever and didnt even bother with POPLA.0

I was glad to read about your success with a strong first appeal/complaint! But at POPLA, just to say, an appellant needs a lot more and we know how to word winning POPLA appeals. A typo in the car park name wouldn't win at POPLA so just want to make sure newbies know that POPLA appeals need more.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Have you checked your banking records to see if £17.50 has been paid to the PPC?0 -
