Hello
Myself and my partner are in the process of a mortgage application.
We want to look into cover so that our mortgage is taken care of should one of us lose our job or (HOPE NOT) die.
Are we looking for mortgage protection or life insurance?

Either, "Mortgage Protection" type policies can be normal protection products that are effectively tied to a mortgage -v- stand policies that are independent from the mortgage but you can factor in the mortgage to your calculations.
You are best speaking to an IFA or advisory broker which have a Protection specialty. They can review your current situation, your desires and any current policies and make recommendations0
