santander not recognising Tesco as a bank?

in Credit cards
A few months ago I took out a tesco credit card with a long 0% period to transfer a balance from my Debenhams credit card (owned by Santander). Despite repeated efforts from Tesco, Santander keep bouncing the payment back and the person I spoke to at Tesco this week said that this happens often as Santander don't recognise Tesco as a bank.
Does anyone else have experience of this? Particularly of it being resolved successfully.
So far I have around £200 of interest that has accrued on the Debenhams card that I wouldn't have if the balance transfer had gone through and also a £150 dd set up to pay Tesco despite the fact that the balance on the Debenhams one hasn't been cleared.
An added complication is that tesco say they have paid the money to Debenhams who haven't said it has been received and this time it hasn't bounced back. Grrrr. It appears that in trying to resolve my debt I have doubled it as I appear to be owe £4K on 2 accounts aaaargh.

You need to put a formal complaint in about this, give them some time to fix it but it will need to be taken to the ombudsman if no joy.
I had the same problem, with the P.O and nat west,it took 6 months to sort but got interest back and £100 compensation.
P.s keep all paperwork and pay at least the minmum to both cards. The money will be in a holding account, its up to them to find it.I have a deep burning indifference0
