North Devon

Hi,

We are going to Woolacombe soon and I was hoping someone would be able to point us in the right direct for some (cheap!) days out away from our accommodation. Needs to be child friendly - have two children, aged 6 and 2

Thanks !

My two monsters thoroughly enjoyed The Milky Way. It's a cheesey funfair/indoor soft play, but has the added attraction of a small and medium sized rollercoaster, a train ride, museum and indoor birds of prey/show arena. They have an indoor dodgems which they alternate between young kids and older kids to stop argy bargy.

The only downside of the place was the greasy cafe which was grim but you can take picnics.

When we got there I was a little hesitant at how bad it was going to be but the Vikingettes loved it.

We turned up early and were waiting in the car park when a bus turned up and dropped off a middle aged lady. She must have said to the driver: "A return to The Milky Way!" :D

Also Watermouth Castle. Much more suited to kids your age.

The Big Sheep was a full day out that our grandchildren ( 9, 6, 4) enjoyed at Easter. Plenty to do whatever the weather.

Local papers often have great voucher deals for half terms and other holidays - not available online as far as I can see, but worth ringing up and seeing if they've got any included which will be valid around the time you're going, or picking on up when you're in Woolacombe - North Devon Journal
