My local council just requested my Freedom of Information request on the basis that the info I requested would take more than 18 hours to collate.
Can I just put in a new request for some of it, then for a bit more once that comes through etc.?

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

I don't see that anyone can stop you making the requests, although they may eventually cotton on to what you are doing (but even then there might not be much they can do about it if each request can be completed at reasonable cost to them).0

Interesting idea - they can aggregate the costs where there are multiple requests, but it is not clear whether that would apply to requests made at different times or not.0

You may become a vexatious requester so I would be careful about putting in multiple smaller requests but at the same time if there is a way of getting some info which will take less time then they should assist you by telling you.0

Maybe have a look and see if any of the info has already been requested

Whatever the council used (statistics) to draw up their current policy on wheelie bin size. I believe the policy to be insufficient, out of date, and without adequate monitoring procedures. I went a little overboard asking for all the stats, meeting minutes, full copy of the actual policy; as well as complaint stats of people asking for larger bins.Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0 -
if you read the foiman.com blog and look through the past posts there is lots of good info on there. i have no doubt read the answer to your question on there but cant remember it.
with regard to the info, once you get it what are you planning on doing? trying to get them to reverse their decision?0 -

I think you'll find that anything to do with wheelie bins is strictly classified information and probably exempt from FOI.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
Naf are you asking Camden for these wheelie bin stats?0
