Nationwide travel insurance?

I was discussing, well moaning actually, that I have to buy travel insurance and because of my wife's and I's age, it was getting more expensive each year and that years ago I didn't need to because I had a Capital One credit card and it came with free travel insurance. Now stopped.
I have a Nationwide FlexDirect account to get the 5% interest on £2,500 and someone said that it came with free travel insurance.
I have searched all the stuff I have about my account and nowhere does it mention travel insurance.
So is this someone mistaken?

Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:

Yes mistaken, it's the Flex plus at £10 per month that has travel insurance, OK till age 75 It's 3% plus other benefits. UK and Europe breakdown for one. Worth it for me.This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

free insurance with the flexaccount0

Since I paid £67 to get 1 trip insurance for the both of us I might just pay the £120 to get travel insurance, depending on whether or not my wife injures herself this time.
If she does that is the last holiday abroad.
At least there are coach trips in the UK.Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:0 -
You may get annual for less than £120. Don't get a bank account just for it, shop around. Packaged insurances can be lacking in cover.0

It is free with the flexaccount. You have opened the flexdirect which is a different account.
You don't need to pay £120 a year it is free, just open a flexaccount. This is only for Europe though not worldwide.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0 -
But the Flexaccount costs nothing (apart from moving £750 per month in and out of the account) for free European travel insurance. It's also quite cheap to upgrade to worldwide. Obviously check the T&Cs, but travel insurance via bank accounts is not necessarily worse.0

Don't forget breakdown cover is included, UK & Europe, plus homestart. If you drive £120 will be well spent.
You could reduce the notional cost by subtracting the 3% interest you receive. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -
Could be advantageous for a couple to open separate accounts, maybe one flexplus and one flexdirect. Best of both worlds. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0
