French Travel (RAIL) strike

Anyone hoping to avoid the skies above France and turn to the country's rail network instead, however, might find matters equally complicated later in the week.
A number of unions serving the national SNCF company have announced a strike by their workers, beginning at 7pm French time on Wednesday, and ending at 8am French time on Friday.

It depends on what you're doing. International trains still run including Eurostar, Thalys and ICE. They are covered by a convention that even the French don't ignore. The biggest issue is if you have to transfer onto the domestique for part of your journey.
Unless you are looking to travel exclusively internally then it is not really that disruptive.0 -

A surprise but, not I suppose? I'll have to tap up a couple of contacts to get the skinny. The standards are slipping, perhaps the increasing number of French management are 'reluctant' to push.0
