Solicitors fees advice

in House buying, renting & selling
any comments appreciated, ive just sold my property & this is the quote for solicitors fees:

upfront set up fee £99
legal fee £299
vat £79.60
official copies £33
total £558.60

is this value for money?

    about the same as i have been quoted (and am using) , thats for selling a house @ £310k , not sure the value makes a difference though

    looks about right to me too, of course it will vary slightly based on the house value.

    Woahhh I'm buying for 226 and they've said 895+VAT plus search fees. I got a few quotes and this was the lowest. Does it differ depending on part of the country or something?

    Our fees for selling were £800. It will vary depending on location and price selling at.
