There are probably dozens of models by Kenwood and Sharp so you will need to specify the models for others to comment.

Have you looked at review sites such as Reevoo?

The best buy tables consist mainly of Panasonic. The Kenwood K20MSS10 comes out quite well at £55 from Currys, but the user reviews are poor with peeling paint, etc. Two Sharp models the r890slm and r842slm are don't buys. Top is the Panasonic NN-ST479S at around £150.

Hi, Panasonic usually make good microwave ovens, have a look at one of their 'flatbed' models ( no turntable ) and pay a little bit more to get better quality build.

Generally speaking Panasonic and Sharp manufacture their own products whereas many others , including Kenwood , can be re-badged cheapies.

I agree with 'keith1950' - Panasonic make really good microwaves but aren't necessarily the cheapest. Sharp are also very good and would be second to Panasonic.

Kenwood does tend to be amongst the cheaper/basic brands.

We usually buy the cheapest microwave that we can find. They seem to last for quite a few years without a problem. I don't even know what make ours is.
Just been to look, it's a Goodman. Working just fine after several years use. The wife says that it cost well under £50 and it has been at least as reliable as expensive models which we have had in the past.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

I've had the same Panasonic microwave with grill for the last 17 years. It was used all the time during the first 18 months as we had no cooker. It has even survived at least two 'exploded poached egg' incidents. Boy that makes a mess!

If and when it finally gives up, it'll be another Panasonic for me.

I was going to suggest the LG MS-1942 which was a Which best buy (budget) for £30-£50, but looks as if they don't make then anymore :(

    I've been Money Tipped!
Bought this from Sainsbury's last year

Lots of good reviews, nice stainless steel finish only £39.99. Only downside is that the beeper when it has finished is a bit irritating but I have got used to it now.

Another vote for Panasonic, their "inverter" range is good, lightweight and plenty of features. We have two, one an old model with quartz grill and the other a recent purchase of the inverter type.

    Only a " cheapie" but - 5* so far.
As above though .... which model or even price-range will give you better-qualified answers - and no!
    You are not being rude!
That's what we're here for; to help ( if we can) - because that is the MSE way. :A
Tomorrow it may well be me asking for YOUR advice.
