Slane Castle weekend stay. Help!

My bf and I are going to see Eminem at Slane Castle in August. Thing is, we have decided to ditch the kids and make a weekend of it given we have never had any time away just the two of us. As the concert is on a Saturday we were hoping to leave on the Friday but have absolutely no idea how we are going to work it between Dublin and Slane considering we are driving from Belfast. Also neither of us have been to either of these places before so it seems we're pretty much !!!!!!ed :eek: and it seems all hotels near to Slane are booked up.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated so thank you in advance

We were planning on driving to Dublin on Friday and travel to Slane on the Saturday for the concert. But thinking how much hassle it would be driving to Dublin, driving to Slane, back to Dublin that night after the concert, then back to Belfast on the Sunday?

Slane is only an hour away from Dublin and there are plenty of hotels and cheap places to stay around the airport.

If it helps, we're going over at the end of July. Flying into Dublin, staying near the airport, planning on spending 2 days in the city and a day trip to Slane. Doesn't seem to be that much hassle really.

I suppose it depends on what you plan to do in Dublin - day trip?
