Hi
I have just come home to the UK after 4 months in USA. Whilst out there, I bought a laptop, as I needed it for my course, and, of course, its way cheaper to buy a laptop in the USA than it is here!
BUT... I didnt consider UK voltage issues when I bought it. I am consequently now rather worried about plugging my laptop into the socket in the wall (I have an adapter plug on it, but no voltage converter) in case it fizzes and explodes on me.
Please can anyone help? I am very keen to get using it once again, as it has so much great stuff on it!
Thanks alot

I think you need to check on the brick between the laptop and the wall to see if it has the capacity to take *-240V and *-60Hz. If it does the brick will do the work for you, you just need to use the adapter plug!Using Ubuntu and OS X0

Thanks, Lukewh!
The brick says the following: Input: 100-240v ~ 1.8A 50/60Hz
Output: 19V - 3.42A.
All foreign to me! But, from what you're saying, it looks like I'll be ok, right?

Yeah that'll be fine. The magical brick of heat will do the work nicely.
It's saying it'll take 100-240v and convert it to the 19v that the laptop needs.
Enjoy your new cheap laptop, hehe.Using Ubuntu and OS X0 -
