I got married at midday in LV and had hair and makeup starting at 8.30am which was hair for my sister, makeup for mum and then both for me.

Our reception in the UK started at 4pm and I had hair at 12 (actually started at about 12.30) and makeup at 1pm.

In both cases everything lasted all day so I wouldn't worry about that, I only needed to touch up my lipgloss from time to time. I had airbrush make-up in LV which was awesome, I'd definitely recommended it! It felt much lighter on the skin than the mineral makeup I usually wear. The makeup in the UK felt much heavier but I soon got used to it and it didn't budge all day. If you've had recommendations for the artists you'll be using then I'm sure it'll be fine!

The hair and makeup artists in LV commented that they like to aim to have everything ready one hour before the ceremony so nothing is rushed. It was nice to have time after wards to have a sneaky glass of bubbly ;)

...What was the durability of your make up on your hen night like?

Fab! It was all MAC as that is what she uses, with a face primer and lip & eye primer too, and it stayed really well for both the hen and the wedding...didn't get to bed til 2am after the wedding and it was around 75deg & sunny all day, so I was really pleased :)

My hair dresser is coming at 9am and has me and six of my bridesmaids to do. I'm doing my own make up so not sure what time I should start. Need a trial run soon. I'm not getting married until 3pm.
  • Don't forget to allow some time for photos before the ceremony. Plus if you having getting ready shots then lots of posed ones a they aren't always you really getting ready lol.

I got married on 1st June @ midday and my makeup/hair lady came at 8am as we had to leave house at 10:30am on the dot and she also did Mum's hair.

She used all the proper primers etc and Mac products and it lasted me into the early evening. I did a quick refresh with some bits she'd left with me for the evening reception & it looked good as new! :)

    Have a fabulous day!

That airbrush make up sounds really good! :D Impressive that it all lasted so well in the Las Vegas heat too!

I miss Las Vegas, it's been nearly 7 years since we were there last (can't believe it's been that long, it's flew by  ), I bet it's changed so much now! My parents have offered to pay for us to go there for our honeymoon, but I can't believe how much the cost of the flights have shot up!

I wish I was confident enough to do my own make up, but I'm not. :(

Congrats on the weight loss btw! :)

Thanks! :) Congrats to you too on your recent wedding!

Mac products seem to be quite popular by the sounds of it!

This has been really helpful! I'm getting married in Spain in September. As I don't know any make up artists out there and am only out there 2 days before the big day I'm braving it and doing my own make up (With loads of practice courtesy of this tutorial they have loads of other styles.) But stupidly I never thought that about how long the make up will last! I guess I am going to have to wear the look for a few days to see how it lasts and judge by that! I'm really worried my make up is going to melt. We were out there at a similar time a few years ago and I walked outside in the evening literally with in minutes my make up had melted/i was all sweaty!
