Tracing old credit cards

I paid for my holiday thru paypal and for some reason my bank blocked the payment so paypal used my reserve card. Trouble is its a card no I dont recognise so think it must be a card I had in the past and cut up . The credit cards I have were not linked to my bank account as I chose the best cards at the time. I dont have any of my old log ins for internet banking. Is there a way of tracing the card? Im worried about interest mounting up!

The first 4 - 6 numbers of the card would identify the issuer. Google "credit card bin"

Just checked my Paypal and the only numbers shown are the last 4 so no quick way. Maybe Paypal will give you the first numbers but I doubt it, too risky for them.

depending on how long ago you had this other card you could get your stat credit report for £2 from experian or others (or for free if you want to register and cancel within the first month) and if you had the card within 6 years it should still be on there.

Yes, credit report seems the best way forward.
