leaving rented accomodation

I am leaving my rented house soon. When I moved in the house was in a bit of a state after the last people. It said on the inventory that they would paint certain rooms and replace the carpets. I noted down all the marks etc when I moved . Am I obliged to redecorate all the rooms apart from ones they were meant to do. Or can I leave the rooms as they are. Also is it best to get the landlord round to agree what needs to be done before I vacate to get my deposit back.

Let's hope for your sake they don't claim the inventory proves those 'certain rooms' were newly painted, thus requiring you to leave themin a similar condition....
Why have you never pursued this redecoration commitment?0 -
If you think he is reasonable yes get him round, otherwise you have no say in the costs afterwards without a fight.
He might be happy as is as long as its clean, most LL expect to refresh between tenants.0 -
No, you are not obliged to decorate any rooms at all: that's the landlord's responsibility.
You only responsibility is to return the property in the same state of cleanliness as it was at the start. If you haven't damaged any of the paintwork, then leave it all as it is.0 -

The only things that I have done is put screws in walls for pictures . There is a few marks on some of the paint work but it is more wear and tear than damage.0
