few questions on moving date

we are only waiting for confirmation of lease which should be with our solicitor tomorrow, then all enquiries, mortgage offers are sorted, our solicitor is quite far away from us so they would have to post for us to sign any documents, is this the point we have exchanged
and second question we have 4 in our chain, so when a date is agreed do we all have to move out on the same day and how long do you normally have to move out before keys are needed to be given to new owner.
getting very excited now

No signing just means your ready to exchange, wait until he tells you have exchanged
YEs it all done on the same day, so have a van ready and packedby midday is usually the appropriate time. Though some contracts with a chain may specify, at say 2pm.
Certainly do not hand any keys over until the solicitor confirms you have the money in your client account0 -

Your solicitor will keep the signed contract, and call you when everything, and everyone, is ready to Exchange. Provided you agree, he will then add the dates, and Exchange contracts for you.
2) In theory everyone moves out by 12.00 midday, gets keys & moves in after 12.00.
Also required is everyone's money to be received by their seller by midday.
In practice as you can imagine, there are delays. A's £ gets to B by 12.00, so B's money gets toCby 2.00, so C's £ gets to D......
Result? If you are at the end of the chain, you may not get the keys till 5.00......
It is always stressfull. Keep calm, have lots of tea available, and... keep calm again!0 -
I don't know how this works in a chain, but in my contract, no chain, if the money is not with my solicitor by 2pm, then the completion date is missed and delayed until the following day. - i can see such a clause causing big problems in a chain though, so likely it is not the same.0
