first direct bank account

Hi,

Sorry if this has been asked before but I am thinking of moving to the first direct bank account to get the joining fee and the 6% saving account to put my extra cash as my ISA will be full soon.

I wanted to know what other people's feelings are about the setup?

Well done if you saved almost £5k in two months.

    What's 'setup'?
You don't have to move everything. Keep your old account and move back if you are unhappy - and with another £100.

No £100 leaving pressie if you want to keep the 6% Reg Saver.

Still worth doing the FD signup and Reg Saver, as a secondary set of accounts.

    thanks guys/girls!

how does the minimum of £1,000 per month to get the account for free work as if i open the 6% Reg Saver does this mean i get it for free?

also if i set up a direct debits for say the max £300 to the 6% Reg Saver does this count as one of the two you have to setup?

also does anyone know how long it takes before you get the £100?

Slow down - - - several people advised you before several times that you should read, read and read , to get yourself equipped with information readily available. Instead you seem to just ask, ask, ask. You can do a lot better at 22.

No you will not get the current account for free if you have a Reg Saver. The Reg Saver is specifically excluded from the accounts that entitle you to a waiver for the £1K.

You cannot set up the £300 DD for the Reg Saver yourself - FD do it for you. It also cannot count as one of the 2 required DDs (or SOs) since these need to be transferred by the FD Switcher Service.

Yes, some people do know. Plenty of posts about this already.

Please do yourself a favour and do some research (if only on the MSE forum) rather than just firing out questions --- you might actually get answers to questions you didn't even know you had.
