eon dd increase
I have just had an email from eon to say my direct debit is going to be increased by £85 to an eye watering £123 a month. When I spoke to them the lady on the phone told me it was because of the cold winter and the price increases. I don't know where to go with this any ideas we live in a two bed flat so don't know how they work their sums out!

Hi Spud79,
This does sound like a big jump, do you have a balance on the account?
If you do then the Direct Debit is calculated to cover your usage and pay off the balance over a number of months, this then gets you to zero balance at your review date.
There is quite a lot of information on the website about how the Direct Debit works.
Also, if you have an online account then you can use the Direct Debit manager tool to have a look at the figures there.
I would also suggest checking you have been billed to accurate meter readings and make sure you're on the best tariff for you needs.
When you called you should really have been given a bit more information than just that, so I'm sorry.
If you do need any help from me please ask.

How much is your anticipated annual usage in kWh?
Are you sure you are on the best tariff for you?

Have you been giving them estimated or actual readings.
If its been estimated then a reader might have been round and it is way under what their estimate was so they are now recovering the difference.0
