Still don't know how you could lose a day's interest on £2.5K if you make your monthly £1K deposit on the 2nd rather than the 1st. In fact, I don't understand why the monthly deposit it should have to be on the 1st.0

Yes the loss will be a day interest on £500ish, not on £2500, i.e. 5-6p lol.
