Hi ,
As this is my first post , please excuse any '' terminology ''
issues !!!! ???
I have a bad credit rating , and although i am paying off ALL
my outstanding debts ( £350 pcm ) , i am finding it very difficult
to open a savings acct !!!
I currently have a NatWest account , but as i am sure you are
all aware the interest rate is ....... poor to say the least.
I recently applied to open a current acct with Alliance & Leicester
, but alas , due to my poor credit history i was refused !!!
Any ideas / suggestions on who or what organization will accept my application ...... all i wish to do with this account is SAVE !!!! , no overdraft , no loans , definatley no credit card.
Thanks in advance.

You sometimes find credit union info in your local paper or maybe the library could help.
Why don't you try opening a savings account rather than current account - they tend to ask less invasive questions because you don't want to borrow any money from them. I've just opened a cahoot account (they knocked me back for a loan last year but no problem with savings account) and have applied to open a regular saver account with Derbyshire. Derbyshire wanted really basic info and proof of identity. Good luck

It is unusual for a pure savings account to be credit scored. So any bank or building society will do
You say you applied for a current account so you would have been declined.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
