Why are you so hung up about the negative equity issue? It wasn't my fault!

little hint: I wasn't hung up about the negative equity

I took out a self-certificated mortgage about 8 years ago which I needed in order to sort out my life. I gave a completely fictitious story about my income etc, and walked away with an offer.

When I sold the house I was in negative equity.

Then why are you hung up about the lenders' reluctance to check up on the borrowers' creditworthiness?

According to Clapton, I am a totally ignorant idiot.

That's the spirit. Lets hope everyone can keep paying when interest rates go back to normal and property crashes. Don't just default so the bank repo's and sells at auction for a snip.
The thing about chaos is, it's fair.
