1st Central Insurance Avoid at all costs

Decided on giving them a go last year as they were £40.00 cheaper than the other quotes I received. Was told I can pay monthly or a one off fee. First of all I said monthly and expected the costs to rise, but not from £597.00 to £800.00.
So I called back and although I had only had the policy for 1 or 2 days was told that I had entered into a credit agreement and that I would need to pay the higher amount.
I then had a number of phones calls going back and forth. Finally someone called me from the company saying that they would do it at a straight £700.00 which in the end I felt I had little choice, as it had gone on and I was really disappointed, but thought, that was it. So I paid £700 on my credit card over a £100.00 more than first quoted, on something I felt cheated about.
Always hard to get hold of would keep you waiting whilst you pay on their premium number and to be fair they weren't bothered.
I then had someone drive into me whilst I had the policy, not my fault which was agreed. 1st central insurance sold my claim as it was not my fault to easicar so they could give me a free courtesy car. I agreed as they said otherwise my no claims bonus would be effected. I then agreed to this, the car was written of, although I had it fixed myself for a lot less than they said it would be done. They gave me one price for my car then when it came to getting the money they reduced it saying the category of the write off had changed from C to D, thus making the written off car worth more. They still owe me £230.00 not paid against the value of the car.
Even better once the car was fixed they said that they wouldn't change my insurance back to full comp, even though they knew all my details, until I supplied them with a Vin number which they had anyway from the accident information, there a total joke.
I would recommend any other insurance company that this, not worth the hassle dealing with a set of amateurs, who really and looking to trick you into using them and then not really dealing with any issues once they have your money at different rates. Extremely poor, you would be advised to use anyone else...
