Thermopor Experience?

Has anyone got any practical experience of the benefits of Thermopor?
We live in a Victorian semi built in 1898. I has cavity walls but the gaps appear to be too small for cavity wall insulation so I keep looking for other ideas to reduce our heating bills. Thermopor appears to fit the bill as it looks as if we can re-plaster internal walls using it and reduce heat loss without losing too much internal space or having to lose the original picture rails and skirting boards, but has anyone used it and was it effective in retaining heat/cutting heating bills?
Thanks.

Ado,
I've used it a few times on small jobs and it works well.
The problem is the people who import it. They bring a container load in wait for it to sell then order another one, so you can quite easily end up waiting weeks for another delivery.
It aint cheap too
So in essence good product but service leaves something to be desired, thats my experience of it anyway
I would definitely try some of the other systems out there to see how the cost compares
Good luck
Doh!
Just reread your post can't you dryline the walls using insulated plasterboard? Thats a lot cheaperThe advice I give on here is based on my many years in the preservation industry. I choose to remain anonymous, I have no desire to get work from anyone. No one can give 100% accurate advice on a forum if I get it wrong you'll get a sincere apology and that's all:D

Thanks for the info.
At the moment I'm still just looking around for options but I thought that drylining plus plaster would use up more room space than Thermopor on its own, plus the added inconvenience of changing or adapting all the picture rails, skirting boards, window reveals to match the diminished room size. On the other hand drylining will provide better insulation and I hadn't realised that it might work out cheaper.0 -

Hi Ado,
what i've done in the past is use insulated plasterboards on the main walls, as realistically you have to take off skirtings and picture rails whichever system you use
then i've used thermopor on window reveals and those more awkward areas in bays etc where space / depth is at a premium.
That methodology works very well
