Will Sky+ work in France

Currently I have standard Sky and have just ordered Sky+.
Hypothetically speaking if I were to holiday in France, could I in theory take the box with me and just use it to receive Sky(not recording etc) or would it still be possible to take the old box and receive Sky?
Do you receive a new card with Sky+ or would you still have to use your old one?
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

We just got sky+ installed and they just plug your old card into the new box.

it depends on what you're plugging it into. Your Sky box plugs into a satellite dish that points in the right direction to pick up Sky.

Yes it would plug into a satellite dish already set up. Everything is set up and currently receives Sky, the only difference would be the Sky+ box

if the dish is already set up to connect to Sky i don't think there'll be a problem as the box is receiving a signal from Sky.

There is no problem with any Sky set up in France, I know of people who are using the full range i.e. Sky, Sky + and HD.

A Sky+ Digibox requires TWO cables connected to the LNB on the dish. Normally a quad-output LNB is fitted, although a twin-output LNB will do.

Make sure the dish is large enough. The requirement varies in France from a 50cm "minidish" in Normandy to a 90cm diameter dish on the Spanish border.
