Can you walk from Bournemouth train station to Westover Road?

As the title says ... I'm travelling to Bournemouth with three children (one in a pram and two 7 year olds) Is it easier to walk into the town centre or should we get a bus?
Does anyone know how long it will take us to walk or alternatively, how much the bus costs?

It's a two and half mile walk. Don't expect much change out of a fiver for the bus.0
