Hi
I have 3 current accounts and it leaves me rather unorganized
I want to close Barclays and Nationwide.
I dont have my barclaycard - do you think i can do using just my id?
Taken from Barclays website - You can close your current account by visiting us in branch or by writing to us. In branch you will need to take your debit card and chequebook with you, along with valid relevant ID such as a driving licence or passport.
Also I have 2 charges pending on nationwide, can i pay them and close my account or will i have to wait for the charge to apply in a couple weeks then close?
thanks

Firstly, it's always worth having at least one extra account as a backup and it costs you nothing to have it.
Secondly, Barclaycard is a credit card, not debit.
That said, I am pretty sure you can close your Barclays account without the card, but it's worth having some extra proofs besides the DL. You can even try doing this over a phone.
And paying the charges there and then and closing the account shouldn't be a problem too. Again, you can pay the charges by FP and try closing it over a phone.0
