Car Wrapping - Stone Chip Protection

Hi All! I'm getting a new (to me) car soon which is low mileage and in very good condition. Where I live the roads are rural and the council use stone chippings and tar adhesive when they resurface them - needless to say, we get a lot of stone being flicked up.

I have seen that you can get vinyl wrap for vulnerable areas of cars which should protect from stone chips etc, like this stuff.

I woudl be grateful for any feeback if you've used it, how does it look when it's on? FWIW, my new car will be white.

Thanks, L

Lots of people use it, if fitted professionally it will not be noticeable and can save some costly resprays.

Car detailing companies are probably your best bet in finding someone to fit it, if you don't fancy doing it yourself.

Typically you leave one tiny spot uncovered and thats where a stone will land.

Where do you get the stone chips?

Wrap it in bubble wrap to protect against larger stones :)

Hi, mainly the front bumper, headlights and front half of bonnet. I'm not the person to wrap my car in bubble wrap, it's just a tool, right? However, I live in the Hebrides and the air is really salty from the wind and the Atlantic spray and the roads are basic to say the best. Becuase we only have one main road, and no diversions, the council tends to use chippings and the tar adhesive so they don't have to close the road - most of which is single track.
