Morning all,
Up earlier than I have been but still managed to oversleep by an hour
My main plan for today is to deep clean the kitchen. My cupboards are in disaray, plus I don't feel that the kitchen flows properly so I am going to remove all items and try and put them into a logical order. Once the cupboards are in order, I can then think of an inexpensive way to brighten the kitchen up.
I didn't get out yesterday to the garden centre as DH cold made him feel rough. Probably just as well I didn't get out as my purse is somewhat empty.
Julie, good luck with trying to find a job. Hope work picks up for your hubby too.
Halight, please do try and take it easy.
Molly, hope all goes well for you today.
Love to all.

Hello all, best wishes to all under the weather.
Did I mention weather? Rather cloudy here and not warm.
I've done the eBay parcel run. Not so many sales this weekend, but I had to go to the post office and the Collect Plus shop. I really like Collect Plus. I'd use it more, but it is a car ride rather than a walk, so post office still scores for a convenient walk.
I've put the vacuum round and I'm just having a quick coffee, before I do the kitchen. I also want to get the dusting done, as I'd like to do some garden work tomorrow, if the weather is ok.
I've got some salmon out of the freezer for dinner.
Have a good dayEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Last day of summer here today! Rain due tomorrow and showers for the rest of the week.
Had a lovely couple of hours with the GS(3) playing football in the garden yesterday. Topped up my holiday tan nicely.
Lost the plot last night with our ex regular cab company. Phoned at 7pm to book cab for 7.40pm. No sign of it by 8pm so Mrs R phoned them to ask whereabouts, to be told it hadn't been sent yet but would be soon. Cab turned up at 8.30pm (50 mins late) so I chased him. We have in the region of 150-200 cabs a year, so was raging about treatment of regular customers. Their system is all computerised and they have our phone number. A call apologising/giving an excuse would have helped, but none was forthcoming. There are 3 other cab companies in the town, so one of them will get the chance of our business from next week onwards.
Feel better I've got that off my chest!
Have a nice day everyone.0 -
Afternoon!
I've been at work this morning, so only just got in. Work was strange today. My bosses hadn't told anyone I'd gone the job and everyone else was too scared to ask me! :rotfl: Not sure of my official start date yet as they want me and someone else to start on the same day, that all needs to be sorted with HR.
We had a nice roast chicken yesterday so tonight we will be having the rest of the chicken in fajitas. I bought some of the Old El Paso kits as they have lots of MOC's in. I used one of them to buy a Betty Crocker mix, so lazy but it was tasty!
Having spent out on a chest freezer last week, I think I need a new tumble dryer. It doesn't seem to be working well. According to the calendar it is summer so I can hold off buying a new one for a while.
Julie - I loved The Returned, I can't wait for next week.0 -
Afternoon all,
a late visit from me today as ive been busy. Was at the doctors first thing then I went shopping. I needed a few bits and pieces and I wanted to get out the house so this was a perfect opportunity.
Back to blood pressure readings again. My GP wants to monitor my readings just to check they aren't too high. They seem pretty ok to me (thankfully as I don't really want to add another tablet to the handful i'm already taking).
Weather is dull and cloudy. Don't tell anyone but I actually put on the heating for a couple of hours this morning as I was cold.
Halight, I am assuming you got on well at the doctors when you had your staples out. Big hugs.
Oh well, i'd best get on as I haven't done anything in the house today and I really need to.
Spag bol for tea tonight. The bol was made in advance so ive only got to do the spaghetti later on. That's one less job to do.
Enjoy the rest of your day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Afternoon all
Just back from the hospital, they were running 2 hours late  which really annoyed me because it cost us an extra £2 a total of £4 for less than three hours parking
Anyhoo; The consultant wants me to have an MRI scan and evidently the appointment comes through really quickly here so It could be within 2 weeks, but we will see what happens, as soon as I get my appointment I have to phone the consultant's secretary to make an appointment for 2 weeks after the scan. I only went thinking I had carpel tunnel, which I have in the right hand and cubital and carpal in the left, but now they think that there is a problem with trapped nerves in my neck  Bloomin' heck it has been one of those years when they keep finding more problems
Nice to see you back Essex girl, I hope that DD gets well soon x
halight keep taking things at a slower pace than normal or we will have to send Lame Wolf round to sort you out:rotfl:
I hope that you feel better now that the staples are out.
NAR, that is so annoying, it is as if you are not valued as a loyal customer, I don't blame you for going elsewhere.
Cloudy and a lot cooler here today, but I haven't heard the forecast , so I really should look that up.
DD is at her BF's it is her day off today and DS is at college.
Just had someone knocking to say that they are thermal imaging all houses in our area for the council, and that they will give us advice on rectifying problems, what an invasion of privacy!:mad::mad: Well sod off council I can't afford that sort of outlay! Anyway fat lot of good imaging will do at this time of year with no heating on.
Oh well I am off to get dinner prepared, I think that it will be lasagne and salad with garlic bread tonight

Hospital carparking charges are disgraceful. Don't mind paying a £1 or two, but these companies really rip you off.
Hopefully BB the MRI will help the Consultant give you a full diagnosis.0 -

TTFTM asked yesterday if I have a photo gallery of canine visitors - I do indeed.:o It's usual practise for the local agent to take a pic of me (and Mr LW if he's at home) with the dogs when they arrive, to give to the owners; and I get given a copy, too. I was fortunate enough to find a nice photo album in a CS a while back, so I store them in that - my Rogues' Gallery.:D I also take loads of pictures of the dogs myself, which I don't print out, but store on my "photo album" flash drive.:o That's where the pics I occasionally post are from.:o
Halight by 'eck, it doesn't seem like a week since your op; but I guess this week's gone quickly for me with having my two favourite hooligans here.:D
The dogs have gone home now; I put the Dys0n round and picked up so much dog hair I had to empty it three times!:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
