Charity Question

We run a small charity group under the umbrella of a bigger charities number with their permission for a very unique group of children that suffer a very very very rare ailment.
Some of our fundraising we collate over different functions what we do is put it all up via our justgiving page. Are we doing anything wrong by doing it this way using the gift aid? We sell things like cakes, wristbands etc etc and we have been donating the money this way to our group in little sums as we get it and someone said the other day there might be an issue doing it this way and we dont want to get into any trouble. I and others have not thought about it in this way but we donate it to the page so other families can see the current total and that everything is going into our pot.

It may be worth contacting the charity commission and ask their advice, perhaps saying its something you would like to do rather than saying you already do it just in case it's a serious no.0

Definitely talk to the bigger charity, they are the ones operating the GA scheme.
Also now's the time to do it, because there's a new scheme whereby single gifts under £20 can be treated as Gift Aided even if they're not, IYSWIM. As long as you're not donating more than £20 on any one day, I think this should come under that scheme.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
