british gas central heating care-pricing policy
having taken out british gas central heating care at £16.00 a month i was dismayed to find out that at least two people i knew were paying less than me(with similar systems) .Anybody else had this problem. i have now switched to Powergens central heating care @ £13.00 a month and when i informed BG of this they made no attempt to drop the price(wonder if its because ive switched supplier for gas) or keep my buisness. do they just make up the price to suit or what?

Not able to answer re BG's pricing but from my experience with their standard of workmanship you've made a wise choice not using them. Here's two examples.
1. leaking radiator valve - not changed just silicone sealed around top.
2. overflowing header tank - ball valve lever just bent down - two occasions.
However after I'd written a letter of complaint to BG and cancelled the contract at the same time, they did offer three free months if I remained. I accepted the offer then cancelled three months later!0 -
funny that,my mates boiler was leaking,after BG came round and "fixed" it he noticed a pool of water on the floor,he took the cover off to find a lump of tissue paper stuffed inside! he called them back and the same bloke returned at which my mate presented him with the soggy tissue! ie chucked it at him while ranting about thier shoddy workmanship! they fixed it in the end but it shouldnt come to that,looks like im best rid.0
