I want Setanta Sport

Hi all, I need some advice:confused:

Firstly what is the process of getting Setanta Sport? I currently have a freeview box without a slot. Do i need an in line connection beween scart and digi box? or a whole new box with Top UP integrated?

Also i see that Top UP TV charge £10 a month for Setanta Sport is there any cheeky ways around this fee?

  • You don't need to subscribe to Top Up TV to get Setanta. You will need a new box with a card slot though. See the info on deeteetee.co.uk:

To receive Setanta Sports on channel 34, you’ll need a set-top box with a card slot, or an IDTV with a CAM. These are available to buy in the shops, or you can order them from Setanta direct. Subscription costs £12.99/month, although if you subscribe now you can enjoy special discount rates, such as your first three months for just £5/month. For more information, call 08702 402020 or click here to visit their website.

    All legal and above board.

EDIT: I just checked on Setanta's website and subscription is now only £10.99/month with a one-off registration fee of £10.
The true cost of something is what you give up to get it.

Avoid linking Setanta sub to your credit card, use a Direct Debit instead. I had the very devil of a job cancelling (after basketball ceased to be shown) after 1 year. Setanta kept taking the money from my card depite my having obtained a cancellation reference in a 3 way call between Visa, Setanta and me. Their operators are obviously under instructions to make it difficult to cancel. A direct debit is more under your control.

I want rid of Setanta Sports.

Been with them since day 1 when they used to offer the Scottish Old Firm away matches for £34 for the season. Now it's up to £15/Mth with a Sky Box. So I phoned up some time ago to cancel.

Anyway to cut a long story short they offered 3 Months Free then a further 3 Months at half price. So I stayed. Now when I try to cancel they inform me by taking the offer up I was in effect agreeing to a new 12 Month Contract, so now I can't cancel until August!!!

Not a happy bunny feel stitched up, but it's going come a August even if they take over Super League and have Premiership Games for the 07/08 season. But I'm sure it'll be £20 a month by then.
    Cheers
    Steve

If you sign up to Setanta Sports, DO IT ON DIRECT DEBIT, NOT CREDIT CARD, as you will have an incredible amount of hassle when trying to cancel, plus having to deal with some VERY unpleasant people. I wouldn't EVER use them again. Porkie pies seem to be the norm' !

I dont think this applies anymore. It is no longer PPV its subscription only on freeview so no way to buy individual games anymore
