gloss paint question

i want to paint my back door that has been previously varnished. i have already stripped this off back to bare hardwood.
i have primed and undercoated.

anyway i want to gloss and have chosen a particular colour however the colour is not available in exterior gloss (only interior as it states on the tin)- so i would have to go to a specialist paint shop to have it made up.

does it really need to be exterior gloss or is this just crazy marketing?

Any particular colour you have chosen? If its definately not available in exterior gloss then alot of good quality 'high gloss' paints can be used inside or outside.
