LastMinute.com/Lowcostholidays problem, please help..

Let me apologise for being a bit long winded.

My story;

On fri night I rang Lastminute.com to try and get a last min deal.
The young lady was able to get 2 Adults & 1 Child Belfast - Faro, staying in old albufieira town at Monica Isabel Beach Resort half board from June 14th - 21st for within my budget.

I had to use two debit cards, my wife's one for most of the payment and mine for a small amount. Because my wife was not at home the lady said she would ring back to chat with my wife to confirm it was ok to use her card.

We waiting but the phone call never came.

I rang Lastminute and after being on the phone for ages and having a £10+ phone bill I got nowhere. I did not remember the lady's name who I had spoken to and they had no record of anything.

My wife checked her account and there has been a hold put on the amount by lowcostholidays who Lastminute use.

I rang lowcostholidays and the guy has no record of any hold or reserved package holiday in our name. It gets better as he wanted to know why I had mentioned Lastminute.com and I said because it ws them that used lowcostholidays for the bookings but he said they had nothing to do with lastmin. Agghh

I checked lastmin website again and it clearly says they use lowcostholidays.

So the problem is we are getting nowhere with either of these companies and because of the hold on my wife's account we cannot book any holiday with anyone because our money is tied up.

Can anyone help please on what we can do??

    That's lowcostholidays for you, will people never learn that they are a cowboy outfit and will take your money but book nothing for you. The flights probably went up so you booking failed, especially if they were one of the lowcost airlines. You will get your money back but by then the holiday most probably will have gone up considerably.

    What a strange experience, it's like the people who worked over the weekend had walked into the wrong building and lifted the phone by mistake. They had no clue but claimed to work for lastmin.com.

    I rang first thing this morning and said to the girl that I thought I would try one more time to sort it out but as soon as I gave my name she said " yes sir I see your booking here, you are already booked for Portugal on Friday" Finallyyyyyyyyyyy
