Advice needed on overdoor canopy

Any advice on this would be great.
The canopy over the front door of my semi needs replacing as a section of the wood is rotten. (It's quite a big canopy : approx 202--210 cms X 67cms, made of wood, flat roofed with felt. ) There are quite a few firms selling glass reinforced plastic canopies on-line but fitting isn't offered (at least not locally.)And the canopies for sale aren't as long as mine.
I've looked in the local yellow pages but none of the door and conservatory firms seem to supply and fit overdoor canopies.
What type of firm is best to contact? Is it a job for a builder?
Also, would I be better going for a wooden one instead of the GRP?
There's a bedroom window directly above --maybe wooden one might briefly hold a person's weight for a quick escape in the event of a house fire?

Why not get a quote from a carpenter or roofer for a price to repair it?0

Thank you. I wondered about having it repaired, but thought as it so old I might be better getting a new one.0

Trying a roofing company - I would expect them to be able to do that for you.

In the end I found a local one-man door fitter who repaired the canopy, covered exposed wooden parts with UPVc and gave it a new scalloped lead top. (Worked out cheaper than a new canopy and looks great.)0
