It says it allows you to dual boot. It basically installs Ubuntu within Windows. But when you restart your computer you will get the option to boot Windows or Ubuntu.
I'm not at home where I have a test PC so I can't test it for you I'm afraid. But if you do try it, let me know how it turns out.

I would advise using Xubuntu. If I can do it, anyone can!Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Have you thought maybe to try out a linux within a virtual environment. It's free and not too difficult. Here is a link of how to get Ubuntu running from within windows. It's a very good and safe way to explore a new OS:
http://homepage.sunrise.ch/mysunrise/ekeller00/ubuntu/2a_UbuntuInWindows_VMware_e.html
(replace Ubuntu6 with whichever version you are attempting)
I would also suggest before starting this, to restore your PC back to how it was before you installed Ubuntu earlier, you do a System Restore from Start>Accessories>System Tools menu. Hopefully when you where changing stuff earlier Windows would have made a restore point automatically! This should relieve the My Documents error.
Hope this helps!
PS.You will not need to setup any drivers or anything as VMWare uses your Windows stuff!Using Ubuntu and OS X0
