Hi All,
Bit of an update:
Following on from my last reply I made another trip to Bangor and photographed the signs proving I hadn't over stayed, I then wrote to Aldi's head office and the bangor store stating that I had 3 expectations:
1 - Cancel the charge.
2 - Apologise for the stress caused to my wife.
3 - Re-emberse the cost of fuel for the 160 mile round trip to provide photographic evidence.
I thought my requests were very reasonable since I'd been wrongfully accuesed and had recieved 3 threatening letters.
Within days I recieved a response from Aldi head office (Still waiting for a response from the store nearly a month later.) Aldi's head office responded saying they would cancel the charge as "I hadn't PREVIOUSLY over stayed" (I'd never over stayed full stop!) and that they could see "You are a regular customer" (How could they see that?) No apology, no admittance of being in the wrong and no offer to cover my losses. They did however try and justify the use of parking eye.
Last week I recieved a letter from parking eye confirming the charge had been cancelled (days after yet another demand for £70) This letter was really short, again no apology, no reference to being in the wrong.
Following the letter from Aldi I sent an email to the Daily Post (Bangor's local newspaper) With details of what happend and the evidence, these are yet to reply.
I know the charge has been cancelled, however I don't class this as a victory, I will never be shopping at Aldi again and will be encouraging other people to do the same.
Cheers,

All Aldi had to do was give you a £25 voucher and you'd have been OK about it, I expect, now look what they have done!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
