Magpies - Macius

Heard some commotion outside the window, birds making so much noise... Did not think much about it then... a cat screaminggggggggggg

Of course the half brain Macius decided to go to the front of the block (my other 3 boys stay more less at the back in the garden but Macius is a gypsy brainless cat)_ and chase a magpie, then more of them appeared and they beat the crap out of him.

Picked him up feeling sorry for himself and bleeding from the front of his neck. Just happy they did not poke his eyes out. He is fine by the way - 30 min later wanted to go out again.

Silly little sod.....

Sounds like my ASBO cat! He picked a fight with a hedgehog, and even prickled to death he wouldn't stop pawing and meowing loudly at it!

Poor little Macius, lucky you were on hand to rescue him.
    I don't like Magpies.

Oh he is all right. Was feeling sorry for himself for like 10 min when I brought him home but then started to attack the door to go out again silly.

Macius is over 18 month old but looks/acts like a baby kitten, I doubt he will ever change - he really has no brain/common sense, sweetest little thing ever.

My two boys were being bullied by a pair or magpies last weekend, they chased them through the catflap and they were too scared to go out there again.

An hour later their tiny, pretty, delicate sister caught one and brought it home :o Goodness knows how she got it through the catflap.

Magpies are very feisty. My old cat caught one once and I had a panicked phone call from the then OH telling me Spook had caught "a black & white pigeon" which was in the bathroom. I got the RSPCA to come out and take it away, but the magpies wouldn't leave it alone and kept divebombing Spook every time she went out, and coming right up to the patio doors. It was a little bit frightening actually.

I woke this morning to two magpies and a black cat playing on the garden fence. The magpies just talked to the cat and jumped over it on the fence when it got closer that a foot.:D

I rescued a young magpie from a cat a few years back. Heard loads of magpies going nuts as I walked passed a garden. Spotted more magpies flying towards the garden. Looked in saw a cat with a magpie in its mouth. I bounced in grabbed the cat made it let go and the magpie which hopped and then flew off. The cat which I knew from the neighbour gave me a dirty look.:rotfl:

That won't do much for Macius's street cred then...getting beat up by birds!

    Glad he's ok though.

I have also rescued a magpie from being attacked by 2 other magpies, he/she? was only young and was literally screaming with fright, poor thing. I couldnt leave him to die. They are very intelligent birds but i could never understand why they attack almost anything. Maybe somewhere back down the genetic chain they got bred with a hawk ! lol.

This made me smile. My three male cats keep getting attacked/chased by a tom cat and my female one is the one who goes out and biffs him on the head (then she legs in back in through the cat flap!)
