:( no ladybugs this year

I've not seen one :(

don't use any chemicals in the garden (more through laziness than intent) so I'm not killing them, they just aren't around, I've even been to a site I know the larvae usually are abundant in the hope of borrowing a couple of mating adults for my garden and there's none.

The aphids are going wild. Is this a bad year for ladybirds?

I've not seen any either, maybe it's a bit early and they are 5weeks behind because of the weather like the plants are!
  • saw them today in abundance all looked smaller than usual but still mating
 Wisdom doesn't necessarily come with age.
Sometimes age just shows up all by itself ;)

In the end, it's not the years in your life
that count....it's the life in your years :D

I've had quite a few butteflies in the garden here. Saw ladybirds when it was still very cold but now you mention it I haven't seen any now it is warm.

Oh I have seen oodles of them so far this year! In fact I commented on this to my OH yesterday that I had never seen so many about before.

Its the cold spring, I havn't seen any aphids yet either and they're one of their favourite foods. Numbers need to build up.

None here either this year, which is very strange as we usually have tons... and my garden is absolutely covered in green flies at the moment so I hope the ladybirds show up soon!!

To those of you who've seen lots this year... where abouts are you?
