Renting with pets

Due to my elderly mother's failing health I need to move closer to her very soon (and don't want to live with her!). I have my own house but have decided to rent a place and put my house on the market with the assumption that it will take a while to sell. I have dogs and cats (2 of each) and realise that they will limit the properties available.
I have been offered a property which, although OK, is maybe not what I would ideally rent. Should I just go for it and accept that with my menagerie it will do for a year or two until I can be in a position to buy again? What does everyone think? Thanks.

If you've been offered a tenancy with all of those animals, you should accept it tout suite. You might not find another landlord willing to accept you in a month of Sundays.0

Snap it up ASAP. Too much of a gamble not to0

Sadly I agree with the posters above. I know how hard it is to find a place where pets are allowed, and it often means compromises.0

I agree. I had to pay an extra £900 deposit for my pets when I was renting, and even then they umm'd and ahhhh'd about it!0

Despite living in a rural area it was still difficult for us to find a LL which accepts pets (we also have 2 cats and 2 dogs). Letting agent said 85% of LL don't allow pets.
So the chances are that you will find it difficult to find another property in which you can have your pets. And it is very unlikely that you will find a property which is ideal and permits pets.It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Thanks everyone!! I must have been very lucky as I have actually been offered a couple of houses in the past week or two - neither is really suitable but you are probably all right! I would never have realised how difficult it is to rent with pets - have to say I would sooner rent my place out to someone with pets than with young kids - but maybe that is just me!!!0
