Hi,
We have had an offer accepted on a property and we have a decision in principle for our mortgage, but I'm a little unsure of what to do next!?
Do I instruct a surveyor to look at the property and then apply for the mortgage, or do I crack on with the mortgage application, and then instruct a surveyor - or do I do both along side each other?
Any advice appreciated
Thanks

Apply for mortgage, alongside that the lender may require its own approved surveyor to visit the house.0

Presumably the lender will just carry out a basic valuation, and it would be down to me to get a surveyor to have a more detailed look?0

Apply for the mortgage, they will offer you a choice of surveys, which they will arrange.
You can, of course, arrange your own separate survey, if you wish - which I'd organise once the mortgage surveyor had been and I had the report in my hand/the OK everything was peachy.0
