I think they've been on the flight, so advice on which case/bag to use might not be relevant. Unless they booked way in advance?

Two possible problems with that strategy... Some airlines don't let you pool your luggage allowance with other people, and some airlines won't allow a single piece of luggage that weights more than 23kg[

In answer to that the original poster was on about thomas cook flights, on which you can pool your luggage and you can have up to 30kg in 1 case and next time i'll look at the date to see when its 1st posted lol, but obviously of interest due to so many helpful answers.

I'm in the same boat. Booked by friends so no idea if we were offered the extra so I'm stuck with 15kgs. I've lookes on the Thomas cook website about pooling the luggage but can't find anything. Any pointers to the info? as we are away next Tues 17.
  • Hi,

I think the best lightweight suitcase is probably the Samsonite Cosmolite

I know you are a new poster but are you aware that the original post was made just over 3 years ago and the most recent post was over a year ago? :)
  • The lightest case I could find are by sub-0-G available online at bagsetc dot co dot uk. The 30" case weighs just 2.76kg, 26" 2.51kg, 23" 2.17kg and 19" 1.94kg. They are reasonably priced and come in a number of designs easy to identify at the airport.

Lightweight-luggage.co.uk was launched as a niche "lightweight" retail site, with a view to listing only the top 2 ranges from each brand in the UK. Jason
