New shower hose leaking

My wife decided she wanted a new shower head, rail and hose.
I therefore ' did as one was told' and bought a new set.
Having drilled carefully through tiles and fitted the new slider bar, it was time to join the new hose to the existing shower. I did everything, turned on the water and waited for my praise ...
 water everywhere
Do I need to fit that plumbers tape inside the hose ? there is already a washer, but it doesn't seem to be doing any good.
thanks

I would remove the black washer and put it back into the end. I tend to push the hose bit out of the connector, line it then push the collar bit back over the top.
Screwing it on, i hold the seal down away from the connector, then tighten the connector. In turn, this pulls the seal up and makes a good fitting..
I would try this..then if it fails refit the old hose, or use the old seal until it stops leaking.
Tape - Not required unless its metal.0 -
I bet the fitting on the hose is too long & you can't screw it up far enough, go to a plumbers merchant or one of the sheds & get a couple more washers & use two in the hoseI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
