I am about to be a single mum..what do I do?

Hi, I am about to move out of my partners flat (don't know where yet), and move into somewhere that I will have to rent. We have a 3 year old who will be coming with me.
My daughter is in nursery 3 days a week (which I currently pay for), I work 3 days a week and take home £1000.00 per month.
I do not have the money for an immediate deposit for a flat so that is the first hurdle. I have no idea where to start regarding what I am entitled to.
Can anybody help?

    Hi
You should be entitled to wtc and ctc. and possibly help with childcare put your details in here www.entitledto.co.uk
First thing though is go to the council, explain your situation and ask to speak to a homeless housing officer, i know you arent technically homeless but if you explain that you are moving out of your partners place they will be able o discuss the options you have.
I know some councils operate A rent deposit scheme which helps you get into rented accomodations without having to find the massive deposit.
I'm not sure how council housig is wher you live but in most areas the council wont house you unless you are actually homeless, as in your ex has thrown you out and you have nowhere to go, then you would be placed in temp accommodation which could be a b&b or hostel or some even let you private rent in say a 1 bed flat whilst you wait for a place.

i don't know about the housing side of it, because i was lucky enough to stay in my house when me and ex split up, but hopefully i can help with other bits and bobs

firstly have you come to a maintenance arrangement with your ex - if you can't come to an amicable agreement (and a solicitor will advise 20% of his monthly wage) - then you need to contact the csa

get onto the tax credit people - you will be entitled to working tax credits and child tax credits - you will get about 80% of your nursery fees paid

when you get your own place make sure you claim your single person 25% discount on the council tax

entitledto website is very good - it'll give you some good advise and guide you as to what you are entitled to - GOOD LUCK

It is 15% of his net income, not 20% unless you have 2 children for maintenance purposes.
