G24 Ltd.

Hi all,

A friend of mine today received a "fine" notice for £100 (£40 if paid within 14 days) for overstaying in a car park at a local shopping centre.

The notice came with 2 time-stamped photos of the car. One in the morning and the other over 5 hours later (car park is free for 3 hours). Both times are roughly correct. However, my friend had only been in the car park for around an hour in the morning, after which he left, spent the next few hours in a local park with friends, then came to visit me before returning to the shopping centre for another errand in the afternoon. So, both times correct, but he left and returned in between.

Obviously, he is going to appeal the "fine". I'm just wondering if, when he writes to appeal, should he state the photos are of two separate occasions on the same day and demand to see the cctv covering the time between the pics, or just appeal with the template I noticed on another thread which was along the lines of "I'm appealing, if you want to know why cough up the code and the money"?

Thanks

Gem.

Tell you friend to challenge like this if in England or Wales , you can appeal independently to popla if they reject this. If not in the above area just ignore the scam. If the vehicle is hired/leased/company then you need to get it away from the RK before they get involved.

    Dear Scammers

In regards to the above speculative invoice, the keeper denies all liability! Your ANPR is defective as the keeper visited this car park twice on this day. If you reject this send the keeper a popla verification code within 35 days, or accept this challenge.

Write nothing, send them nothing, collect the letters they'll send and ignore them. They'll send stuff that's meant to scare the living daylights out of your friend, but it's a scam. They are a joke, but sadly people pay out of fear. Don't let your pal be one of them!

There is an option to ignore, but its not advised when there is an opportunity to close this off now permenatlly. We are seeing with parking eye and civil enforcement ltd that they are going to court on certain people ignoring . If the OP wants to wait 6 years to see if G24 does the same then fair enough, but will you be here to help them through that ?

So why did you write this on 24th May? Now you say write to them! Your advice is like the wind

"They are just useless scamming scumbag debt collectors with absolutely no powers to enforce anything. All they do is write templated letters, that means all the letters are pre-printed then they just add your name to it, then post it out, that is it! They can be considered like Nigerian kings asking you for your bank details. Just ignore them!"

Because these are not the debt collectors but the parking company themselves! There is no point speaking to a DCA as they are only interested in one thing and that is money, so what I wrote is true
