Can ladies recommend a good Epilator??
Ideally least painful to use on upper lip..
If anyone has had good experiences with a particular one, I would appreciate some guidance, this would be my 1st time trying it..

I've been using Phillips ones. The first corded I passed on to my mother, then I got a cordless dry one with a mini epilator with it. Wouldn't use the main one on lip areas, but the little one is good for facial hair. It's not painless thought, same as waxing eventually you get used to it and it's less painful. Using a single wet/dry Philips and frankly not that impressed with it, will prolly return and go back to the dry cordless. It is shockingly noisy. I'm starting to think my neighbours will be wondering what on earth I'm doing in the bath!
The Phillips one come with a 90day use and like or return offer, or something along those lines, but as I say I wouldn't use the big one on the face, but when you get the mini one included that is absolutely fine. Do it the night before, rather than in the morning as it can induce redness.0 -

Thanks for your recommendations, will look into it

Is using it on wet skin less painful than on dry, you reckon?0 -
Would you consider waxing or are you looking to move away from that?0

I have a basic one that I use everywhere... Works just great. was about £40 I think. Braun if I recall. I find it hurts less after a soak in the bath. not too bad after a shower. worst if I haven't had a bath or shower before I do it.
When you first do it..IT KILLS. But it's worth it. It takes much longer between re growth. Feels soooo much better in-between times. Once routine is established it seems to hurt much less0 -
i have a single hair epilator that i bought from QVC that I use for my top lip. I think it is the Emjoi brand and it is great so much easier to use than my other epilator that even with attachemtns is much more clumsy0

I did wax when I was younger and always ended up in big fat tears
I guess I'm more of a whimp now regarding pain.
Having researched a little bit, I think the epilator would be hard for me to try on the upper lip, I'm considering threading and maybe IPL for the rest of the body..
Will what I end up with in the end..:D
Oh Hair and its woes..:p:D:D0 -
Definitely look into threading. I have a phillips epilator - no way anything like that is going near my face! I pay about £3 for my eyebrows threaded - well worth it!
It will still hurt - just easier not to stop if someone else is doing it!!0 -
I was put off threading when I noticed the woman threading put the cotton in her mouth!
I self wax my face and don't find it at all painful. Warm wax actually makes it easier to pull out the hairs!
