Cunard have some great prices on cruises at the moment
I have just booked 14 night round trip Southampton to NY on the QM2
Cunard introduced a new range of fares early this year.Getaway fares! They really shot themselves in the foot in that you could not get these fares if you were travelling solo or as a Family. No 100% supplement for solo Just a big no
Getaway fares allowed you to book a guarantee fare and to know you would be in a particular grade of cabin or higher but not the actual no
The other fare is Vantage this is a higher fare where you choose the cabin but the cost was much higher. Solo travellers would pay that fare plus 75% which took the fare to almost 400% of what the getaway fare was.
I and I presume many others wrote to Cunard and now because of this structure they are having to discount heavily to fill the Ship
I have paid £899 for a balcony guarantee and I have resolved the dilemma by taking my 15 yr old Granddaughter with me. This will be my 4th cruise on QM2 and I love her. They have had fares for as little as £500 for 7 nights June etc. Since I booked the price now for an inside has gone up from £699 to £945 The balcony has gone from £899 to £1095 I think.£1045??
A friend has booked 7 nts Fjords in July in a Princess Grill suite on the Vantage fare for £2400 each They could have booked the same grade on the Getaway fare for £1245 But if they had taken a balcony and not a suite they could have paid just around £

Sorry but got cut off before finishing It was just over £1000.
Cunard have now done a U turn and from the 1st September they will allow families and solo travellers. Believe for Cunard they prices available at the moment are rock bottom, They are discounting in to August but they will sell out one they are further discounted. If you ever want to do a Cunard cruise then this is the time to do it I don;t think that we will see prices like this again in many a long year;
