    The defence will be the 7 years time frame. 84 monthly payments have been made in that period. So reliance on everybody else to have done something IFA, insurance company doesn't wash with me. Far to long to have gone unnoticed.

    Put it down to oversight. Perhaps use your time now to review your finances. As you may find all sorts of transactions in your bank accounts that you were unaware of.

    Off the top of my head, for at least the last fifteen years;-

    Friends Provident
    If its stand alone CI then guaranteed rates were not openly available. Certainly not with Friends Prov (i was an account manager there until the merger) so i can say that with some confidence. Im pretty sure Guaranteed standalone CI premiums were in the minority though?
