Card protection or payment protect cover?

I am new to all this so bear with me please. I am looking at my husbands old Virgin money credit card, I have statements back to 2004 and on them I can see "Card Protection" by CPP for £29 a year, but also a "Payment Protection Cover" which is 79p per £100 of monthly balance. When I claim for PPI using the instructions here on the website, which one am I claiming for?
And is it worth contacting them directly, or better to just do the consumer questionnaire from the FO?
Many thanks and sorry if this is as basic as it gets, appreciate any help

Fill in the questionnaire, its the Payment Protection Cover that is the PPI.
You can try reclaiming the CPP from Sentinel.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Ohh Thanks for that! Filled it all in now. So should I send the questionnaire to Virgin Money or to CPP? I have all the Virgin Money statements which shows the payment protection cover fees, do I just enclose a couple of copies of those I suppose?
Much appreciated!0 -
Virgin for the PPI. Search the how-tos in the 'reclaims 1000s' section for reclaiming CPP.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Advice is to call CPP direct if they sold it to you: 0808 156 0199. If it was sold through your bank or credit card then you need to raise a complaint with them instead.
However, I have just called CPP direct and initiated a complaint with them direct. I didn't have the full details (ie policy number), but they have taken my details and will look through their history to find my details. The very nice guy on the phone stated that I will get a response within 5 working days telling me whether or not the claim with them has been acknowledged (or if they believe it should be with Virgin - the credit card provider in this instance. I'm told that the split between who sold the policies is 50/50 with Virgin, ie, half the time it was CPP and half the time it was Virgin) and who my case manager is, with a reference number etc. He also advised that if they confirmed that it was Virgin who sold the policy, then they would pass the claim and information onto them to deal with.
Would someone be able to add this information to sticky somewhere, or have a separate CPP reclaim thread? This is the forum area for PPI and other insurance claims (ie, the most logical place for CPP reclaim), but there is very little CPP information available. It would be great if there was some kind of sticky for it with all the relevant info, experiences reclaiming etc.
Thanks

I contacted CPP who told me that Alliance & Leicester sold the policy on their behalf.
I contacted Santander, filled out their PPI claim form (even though it was for Credit Card Protection). They responded quickly and then followed up with an investigative phone call.
Next I receive confirmation that my claim is successful.
Best of luck to you.0
