Economy 7 query

Hi
I have Economy 7 but not sure how to use or utilise it best.
I have a water tank with 2 switches going into it. One has a red light on the switch and goes into the tank near the top, then there's a normal switch (similar to light switch) goes in near the bottom.
I use very little hot water (shower is thermostatic) so which switches should always be on and wich one should i use for a boost

the bottom heater is for e7, which is left on. the top heater for boost. hope this helps.0
