After converting try using dvd shrink (free afaik) this shrinks down the sizeWhat goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
No need to worry. A normal DVD stores around 4.5GB, so you shouldn't have any trouble in the first place.
The fiile becomes larger because the files on a DVD are less compressed than the files in the .avi package.0 -
try convert x to dvd - all you do is use the interface load p the avi files and let it do all the work for you0

You would need to seriously reduce the quality of the video to fit 4 GB of AVI files into 1 DVD. you might manage 2 but I very much doubt you will get 4 on.0

I use Movie DVD maker to convert the avi files. although the package your using will do pretty much the same. However, if the file/files prove too big for a disk after conversion, I open the file using Dvd Shrinker and reduce it from there. But as said, be aware that the bigger the file, the lesser the quality will be once shrunk, the trick is to fill the blank disk with just enough data to fill it, if it goes over the limit, only try to allow enough so it is just borderlining, then allow a shrink to proceed, but dont try to squeeze too much onto a disk, it will just end up looking awful.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Oh...I see. You'll probably need to create a DVD9 Dual Layer(8.5GB) image, rather than burning a disc and then shrink it with DVD Shrink.0

euglycaemia, my advice would be to buy a cheap DivX player, saving you the hassle of having to convert the files and all the time that takes. That's what I did and the £20 odd quid my DivX player cost me is the best money I've spent in ages! The true cost of something is what you give up to get it.0
