Can I find out what the other freeholders paid for the freehold?

Just to try and get straight what's happened; someone owned the whole building and leased five separate flats out within the overall property. At some point before your lease began, four of the leaseholders (the four still remaining in the property other than yourself) banded together, formed a company with themselves as directors and purchased the freehold for the building, becoming the outright owners. They continue to offer leasehold that you currently hold pretty much as it was before their purchase?
If that's right, then it looks like you're just unlucky that LR doesn't have the sale price listed. I'm not aware of any other method of getting it other than to ask. Unless you can find details of the previous owner of the freehold (not certain if this is on LR?), and see if they will tell you.

Voilà. I think I have my answer then. I do know the name of the previous freeholder, so that might be an avenue. But, since it seems the Land Registry has not recorded the sale price of the Freehold from the previous Freeholder to the current Freeholder (my neighbours, acting as a company), then I'm probably stuck with paying for a valuation and getting my guide price that way. I imagine a valuation could help with an estimate for what they might have paid in 2006 as well. Anyway, it'll be a bit more expensive this way, but since the valuation would have to be done anyway, I'll just have to suck it up and hope my negotiating instincts are finely honed. And I may still be able to get the original figure by stealth.

Thanks to all those who chipped in, much appreciated.

I am not too sure whether you have dismissed the option of applying for a copy of the Transfer from the previous Freeholder to the current one or not? - if you have dismissed the idea of checking as not having much point as now several years on or I have misunderstood then apologies

The price may not be listed on the register but if one was paid it should be shown in the actual Transfer form itself and that remains an available option - my previous post referred 'A copy of the transfer whereby the freehold was purchased may be available which in turn contains the purchase price - however I suspect this will be too old to be of any relevance now?'

If you want to check then Contact Us with the address and title of the property, the details of the Transfer i.e. A to B and roughly when and state you simply want to know what the sale price was and if it is shown in the Transfer or in the application made at the time. We should be able to check and advise and if it is available advise as to what you need to apply for e.g. use form OC2 to get a copy of a Transfer dated XX/YY/ZZ as filed under title ??????. Cost £11.
